Shaula Solitaire

Shaula is an open game (all 52 cards are displayed face up at the beginning of the game). There are four tableaus that contain six cards each. The objective is to move all cards to the four foundations by building them up by the same suit.

How to Play Shaula

Build foundations up by the same suit. Fill empty foundations with Aces. Build forty thieves piless down by the same suit. Move sequences built down by the same suit together. Fill empty forty thieves piless with Kings. Build freecell piless down by alternating color.

Game Objective

The goal of Shaula is to move all fifty-two cards to the foundation piles. You achieve this by building sequences of cards up by the same suit that start with an Ace and end with a King. You win when the four foundations each contain a complete sequence of thirteen cards.

Foundation Rules

  • There are four foundations.
  • The foundations are initially empty.
  • The foundations build up by the same suit.
  • For example the 2♠ may move onto the A♠ and the 2♦ may move onto the A♦. Starting with the 2♣ the following sequence may build on top 3♣ 4♣ 5♣ 6♣.
  • An Ace may move to an empty foundation.

Cell Rules

  • There are four cells.
  • The cells are initially empty.
  • The top card is movable.
  • Any single card may move to an empty cell.

Forty Thieves Piles Rules

  • There are four forty thieves piless.
  • Initially containing six cards face up in each forty thieves piles.
  • The forty thieves piless build down by the same suit.
  • For example the 5♠ may move onto the 6♠ and the 5♥ may move onto the 6♥. Starting with the 5♣ the following sequence may build on top 4♣ 3♣ 2♣ A♣.
  • Sequences of cards built down by the same suit may move together as a group.
  • A King may move to an empty forty thieves piles.

FreeCell Piles Rules

  • There are four freecell piless.
  • Initially containing seven cards face up in each freecell piles.
  • The freecell piless build down by alternating color.
  • For example the 5♠ may move onto the 6♦ and the 5♥ may move onto the 6♣. Starting with the 5♥ the following sequence may build on top 4♠ 3♦ 2♣.
  • Sequences of cards built down by alternating color may move together as a group.
  • Any card or valid sequence of cards may move together to fill an empty freecell piles.
