Repair Solitaire

Repair is an open game (all 104 cards are displayed face up at the beginning of the game). There are ten tableaus that contain ten cards each. The objective is to move all cards to the eight foundations by building them up by the same suit.

Winning is mostly determined by skill. A small amount of luck is involved.

How to Play Repair

Build foundations up by the same suit. Fill empty foundations with Aces. Build tableaus down by alternating color. Fill empty tableaus with any card.

Game Objective

The goal of Repair is to move all 104 cards to the foundation piles. You achieve this by building sequences of cards up by the same suit that start with an Ace and end with a King. You win when the eight foundations each contain a complete sequence of thirteen cards.

Foundation Rules

  • There are eight foundations.
  • The foundations are initially empty.
  • The foundations build up by the same suit.
  • For example the 9♠ may move onto the 8♠ and the 9♦ may move onto the 8♦. Starting with the 9♠ the following sequence may build on top 10♠ J♠ Q♠ K♠.
  • The top card is movable.
  • An Ace may move to an empty foundation.

Cell Rules

  • There are four cells.
  • Initially containing one card face up in each cell.
  • The top card is movable.
  • Any single card may move to an empty cell.

Tableau Rules

  • There are ten tableaus.
  • Initially containing ten cards face up in each tableau.
  • The tableaus build down by alternating color.
  • For example the Q♠ may move onto the K♦ and the Q♥ may move onto the K♣. Starting with the Q♥ the following sequence may build on top J♠ 10♦ 9♣.
  • The top card is movable.
  • Any single card may move to an empty tableau.
