Fives and Sixes Solitaire

Fives and Sixes is a closed game played with a single deck (52 cards). The objective is to move all cards to the four foundations by building them down by the same suit.

How to Play Fives and Sixes

Build fives foundations down by the same suit and wrap around on Aces. Build sixes foundations up by the same suit. Stock deals one to waste with no more than two redeals.

Game Objective

The goal of Fives and Sixes is to move all fifty-two cards to the foundation piles. You achieve this by building sequences of cards down by the same suit that start with an Ace and end with a King. You win when the four foundations each contain a complete sequence of thirteen cards.

Fives Foundation Rules

  • There are four fives foundations.
  • Initially containing a Five in each fives foundation.
  • The fives foundations build down by the same suit. Fives foundations may build around-the-corner (a King may move onto an Ace).
  • For example the 6♠ may move onto the 7♠ and the 6♦ may move onto the 7♦. Starting with the 3♣ the following sequence may build on top 2♣ A♣ K♣ Q♣.
  • The fives foundations may hold no more than six cards.

Sixes Foundation Rules

  • There are four sixes foundations.
  • Initially containing a Six in each sixes foundation.
  • The sixes foundations build up by the same suit.
  • For example the 3♠ may move onto the 2♠ and the 3♦ may move onto the 2♦. Starting with the 3♣ the following sequence may build on top 4♣ 5♣ 6♣ 7♣.
  • The sixes foundations may hold no more than six cards.

Queens Foundation Rules

  • There are four queens foundations.
  • The queens foundations are initially empty.
  • A Queen may move to an empty queens foundation.

Stock Rules

  • The stock deals one card face up to the waste when tapped.
  • The stock permits two redeals (three passes through).

Waste Rules

  • There is one waste.
  • The waste is initially empty.
  • The top card is movable.
  • Once empty the waste remains empty until more cards move from the stock.
