Calculation Solitaire

Calculation is a closed game played with a single deck (52 cards). The tableau starts empty. The objective is to move all cards to the four foundations by building them n-higher than previous stack regardless of suit.

How to Play Calculation

Build foundations n-higher than previous stack regardless of suit and wrap around on Kings. Build tableaus with any rank regardless of suit. Fill empty tableaus with any card.

Game Objective

The goal of Calculation is to move all cards to the foundation piles. You achieve this by building each foundation up by one rank higher than the last. You win when the four foundations each contain a complete sequence of thirteen cards.

Foundation Rules

  • There are four foundations.
  • Initially containing n Ace, Two, Three, Four.
  • The foundations build n-higher than previous stack regardless of suit. Foundations may build around-the-corner (an Ace may move onto a King).
  • For example the first stack builds up by one (Ace, Two, Three) the second by two (Four, Six, Eight) the third by threes (Six, Nine, Queen) and the fourth by fours (Four, Eight, Queen).

Tableau Rules

  • There are four tableaus.
  • The tableaus are initially empty.
  • The tableaus build regardless of rank regardless of suit.. Only cards from the WASTE may move to the tableaus.
  • The top card is movable.
  • Any single card may move to an empty tableau.

Waste Rules

  • There is one waste.
  • Initially containing forty-eight cards face up in the waste.
  • The top card is movable.
  • Once empty the waste remains empty.
