How to Play Blockade

Game Objective

The goal of Blockade is to move all 104 cards to the foundation piles. You achieve this by building sequences of cards up by suit that start with an Ace and end with a King. You win when the eight foundations each contain a complete sequence of thirteen cards.

Foundation Rules

  • There are eight foundations.
  • An Ace may move to an empty foundation.
  • Empty tableau spaces fill with a card from the stock.
  • The foundations build up by the same suit.
  • For example the 4♠ may move onto the 3♠ and the 4♦ may move onto the 3♦. Starting with the 4♥ the following sequence can build on top 5♥ 6♥ 7♥ 8♥.
  • Cards on the foundation may be moved.

Tableau Rules

  • There are twelve tableaus.
  • Any card may move to an empty tableau.
  • Empty tableau spaces fill with a card from the stock.
  • The tableaus build down by the same suit.
  • For example the 7♠ may move onto the 8♠ and the 7♥ may move onto the 8♥. Starting with the 7♥ the following sequence can build on top 6♥ 5♥ 4♥ 3♥.
  • Empty tableau spaces fill with a card from the stock.
  • Sequences of cards built down by the same suit can move together as a group.

Stock Rules

  • The stock deals one card face up to each of the tableaus when tapped.
