Batsford Again Solitaire

Batsford Again is played with two standard decks (104 cards). The objective is to move all cards to the eight foundations by building them up by the same suit.

How to Play Batsford Again

Build foundations up by the same suit. Fill empty foundations with Aces. Build tableaus down by alternating color. Move sequences built down by alternating color together. Fill empty tableaus with Kings. Build reserve with equal rank regardless of suit. Stock deals one to waste with no more than one redeal.

Game Objective

The goal of Batsford Again is to move all 104 cards to the foundation piles. You achieve this by building sequences of cards up by the same suit that start with an Ace and end with a King. You win when the eight foundations each contain a complete sequence of thirteen cards.

Foundation Rules

  • There are eight foundations.
  • The foundations are initially empty.
  • The foundations build up by the same suit.
  • For example the 4♠ may move onto the 3♠ and the 4♦ may move onto the 3♦. Starting with the 4♦ the following sequence may build on top 5♦ 6♦ 7♦ 8♦.
  • An Ace may move to an empty foundation.

Tableau Rules

  • There are ten tableaus.
  • Initially containing a Klondike layout.
  • The tableaus build down by alternating color.
  • For example the 7♠ may move onto the 8♦ and the 7♥ may move onto the 8♣. Starting with the 7♥ the following sequence may build on top 6♠ 5♦ 4♣.
  • Sequences of cards built down by alternating color may move together as a group.
  • A King may move to an empty tableau.

Reserve Rules

  • There is one reserve.
  • The reserve is initially empty.
  • The reserve build with equal rank regardless of suit.
  • For example the 5♠ may move onto the 5♥, 5♣ or the 5♦.
  • The top card is movable.
  • A King may move to an empty reserve.
  • The reserve may hold no more than three cards.

Stock Rules

  • The stock deals one card face up to the waste when tapped.
  • A single redeal of the waste back into the stock is permitted. Allowing for two complete passes through the stock.

Waste Rules

  • There is one waste.
  • The waste is initially empty.
  • The top card is movable.
  • Once empty the waste remains empty until more cards move from the stock.
