Antares Solitaire

Antares is an open game (all 52 cards are displayed face up at the beginning of the game). There are four tableaus that contain six cards each. The objective is to move all cards to the four foundations by building them up by the same suit.

How to Play Antares

Build foundations up by the same suit. Fill empty foundations with Aces. Build scorpion piless down by the same suit. Any card is movable. Fill empty scorpion piless with Kings. Build freecell piless down by alternating color.

Game Objective

The goal of Antares is to move all fifty-two cards to the foundation piles. You achieve this by building sequences of cards up by the same suit that start with an Ace and end with a King. You win when the four foundations each contain a complete sequence of thirteen cards.

Foundation Rules

  • There are four foundations.
  • The foundations are initially empty.
  • The foundations build up by the same suit.
  • For example the 9♠ may move onto the 8♠ and the 9♦ may move onto the 8♦. Starting with the 9♠ the following sequence may build on top 10♠ J♠ Q♠ K♠.
  • An Ace may move to an empty foundation.

Cell Rules

  • There are four cells.
  • The cells are initially empty.
  • The top card is movable.
  • Any single card may move to an empty cell.

Scorpion Piles Rules

  • There are four scorpion piless.
  • Initially containing six cards face up in each scorpion piles.
  • The scorpion piless build down by the same suit.
  • For example the Q♠ may move onto the K♠ and the Q♥ may move onto the K♥. Starting with the Q♠ the following sequence may build on top J♠ 10♠ 9♠ 8♠.
  • Any card or stack of cards may move together as a group. Any stack of cards may move together, regardless of their build with no restriction on their rank, suit or color.
  • A King may move to an empty scorpion piles.

FreeCell Piles Rules

  • There are four freecell piless.
  • Initially containing seven cards face up in each freecell piles.
  • The freecell piless build down by alternating color.
  • For example the Q♠ may move onto the K♦ and the Q♥ may move onto the K♣. Starting with the Q♥ the following sequence may build on top J♠ 10♦ 9♣.
  • The top card is movable.
  • Any single card may move to an empty freecell piles.
